The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday, March 15.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the visit. He shared the news on X, accompanied by official photographs of the meeting.

Onanuga stated, “Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III visited President Tinubu at the State House Abuja on Sunday March 15.”

President Tinubu holds the position of Nigeria’s highest political authority, while the Sultan of Sokoto is the nation's highest spiritual authority.

The Sultan holds the role of traditional and religious leader for Muslims throughout Nigeria.
